LED Lighting

LED lightingLight-emitting diodes (LEDs) are becoming increasingly available as a lighting source. They have a long life span, are durable, energy efficient and cool to the touch. As research into new applications continues, LEDs are gaining in popularity.

Although the initial cost of LED bulbs is currently higher than incandescent or compact fluorescent bulbs, prices are coming down and new applications are being developed.

You've probably seen LED lighting in commercial buildings and throughout your community but never realized it was there - it's commonly used in exit signs and traffic lights.

LED lights offer many advantages:

  • A life span of up to 100,000 hours.
  • Up to 25 strings can be connected end-to-end without overloading the typical household circuit.
  • Sturdy epoxy lenses are nearly indestructible.
  • Cool-burning personality makes combustion nearly impossible no matter how long they are left on.

Consumers who may have been disappointed with the first LED lights on the market will be pleased to find they are now available in a wide variety of styles.
